Toad, Mole and Ratty are on a Mission .

Christopher,  Rupert and Oliver (Ratty, Toad and Mole).

Arived at Dillington house to celebrate the ‘2008 year of reading’ and the 100th anniversary of Wind in the Willows. The morning was filled with fun and activities to do with Wind in the Willows.

One of our favourite activities was the gypsy caravan.

The person in the picture stroking the horse is Christopher. The gyspy caravan was filled with a horse, dog and a chicken in a cage. The man put on a stew and told us about his adventures in the story.

Then we moved over to the fortune teller and my fortune said that I would get a dog (actually I never will, Unfortunately).

Meet the reporters.

Our next activity was, ‘meet the reporter,’ in which somebody was a reporter, a cameraman, and a Toad(actor).

In this, the reporter interviewed Toad and asked questions about his visit, while Ratty filmed it with his camera.

‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’, Wind in the Willows style.

  Stoke St Gregory and Burrowbridge

                         Vs    Hatch Beauchamp

Who will win?

Hatch Beauchamp of course!!!!

So the day came to an end and we left happily, with our own copy of ‘The Wind in the Willows,’ to enjoy reading back at school.
