Update - 23rd June 2008

Simatobolo Bore Hole Appeal

The school and wider community of Hatch Beauchamp have been busy raising money to buy a bore hole for the village of Simatobolo in Zambia .  It will cost about £2000 to install so we have set ourselves the target of raising “£2008 in 2008”!

The school children had a very successful “Brass and Bonnets” concert in the village hall where Easter bonnets were paraded and brass instruments blown to the tune of a generous £100 for the appeal.  They also recently held a sponsored sports competition and raised £314.95.

Various local businesses have also been extremely generous in their support of the appeal and we have received donations from Hatch Beauchamp Garage, Woodlands Building Contractors, P and P Knight Building Services and Beauchamp Builders so we are very grateful to them.

Mike Hobbs, parent and school governor recently ran the Exeter half Marathon in aid of the appeal.  He finished in a very respectable time and also managed to raise £100 towards the borehole, so our thanks are extended to him also.

The next date for your diary is 28th June, the school Summer Fayre.  There will be stalls and refreshments from 12-2 at the village hall and all proceeds raised will go the appeal fund.  Preceeding this from 10-12 the children will be joined by pupils from other schools for a festival of country dancing and anyone is welcome to attend.
