UK Chess Challenge Megafinal Millfield School

On Sunday 17th of May 2009 Rupert Comer, Joseph Devonshire, Josh Barnes, Christopher Grabham and Mrs Harper all travelled to Millfield school for the UK Chess Challenge Megafinal.

The day consisted of  six matches, you needed to win four matches to get through to the next stage, the giga-final.

The first match we played, I lost ,Joe lost,Chris lost and Josh won!

After a quick game of basketball/rugby and a feast of Mentos and crisps the 2nd game began.

I  won ,Joe won ,Chris won and guess what Josh lost!

By now we had all had a taste of victory and were happy with our results so far.

When the last match came we had all finished with not quite enough points to go through, apart from Joe who had to win his match to get through.

We waited in the hall curious to hear his score, but were disappointed to hear that he had lost.

Even though none of us had got through we all enjoyed our day at Millfield.

Better luck next year Hatch Beauchamp!
